Karate RX Fitness Progression System

Purpose:

This system organizes fitness testing across the belt progression to ensure students develop strength, stability, and power in a structured and progressive way. Each stripe targets a specific fitness category while building toward full physical readiness for belt testing.

🟠 Black Stripe Fitness System (All Belts Below Brown)

How to Read This: Look at how many black stripes a student CURRENTLY has on their belt.
That tells you exactly what they test next.

⚪ 0 Black Stripes → 🦵 Test Squat Requirement

Student has no stripes yet

Test: Squat Requirement

⚫ 1 Black Stripe → 🧠 Test Core Requirement

Student has earned 1 stripe

Test: Core Requirement

⚫⚫ 2 Black Stripes → 💪 Test Push-Up Requirement

Student has earned 2 stripes

Test: Push-Up Requirement & Plank Requirement

⚫⚫⚫ 3 Black Stripes → 📦 Test Box Jump Requirement

Student has earned 3 stripes

Test: Box Jump Requirement

⚫⚫⚫⚫ 4 Black Stripes → ✅ Fitness Complete

Student has completed all fitness requirements

Eligible for belt testing

✅ Requirement: Students must complete all four fitness stripes before advancing to their next belt.

🟤 Brown Belt Fitness System

Brown belts are held to a higher standard.

At EVERY stripe test, students must pass:

  • Squat Requirement

  • Core Requirement

  • Push-Up Requirement

  • Plank Requirement

  • Box Jump Requirement

🥋 Black Belt Qualification

Students are eligible to test for their Black Belt once they have:

  • Earned all required curriculum stripes

  • Earned their fitness stripe by completing the Black Belt fitness requirements

Black Belt Fitness Requirement:

Students must demonstrate all fitness requirements at their highest level:

  • Squat Requirement

  • Core Requirement

  • Push-Up Requirement

  • Plank Requirement

  • Box Jump Requirement

  • 2 Mile Run (completed within required time standard listed on Black Belt Testt.
